Mythology was a very important part of Roman society. They essentially created a god for almost everything. They had a god for love, for fertility, a god of war and many others. They created the gods to explain things that were happening and that had happened around them. The stories are mostly about politics and morality and they give an example of how people should be. Also, a lot of the stories deal with heroism, most of the gods were some sort of heroes. Most of the gods were other forms of Greek gods with the same ability just a different name. Most of the roman stories are not as popular as the Greek ones, however the story of Romulus and Remus is considered to be very well known. There are many different versions of the story but the most popular is that Romulus and Remus were raised by a wolf and founded Rome when they grew up. The Romans always thought of themselves as highly religious and they believed that the gods would protect them and keep them in line.
